Hellloooo my beautiful friends,
Something I see across the board regardless of the level of income is that people drastically (and unknowingly) attach their confidence, peace and identity to the up's and downs of their business.
Biggest financial month ever? unhealthy ego enters the room.
Lowest financial month in years? identity crisis.
Client projection? completely shuts down and hides.
Everyone now sells femininity? becomes an overnight expert.
Its a MASSIVE energy leak. and it's exhausting.
If you find that you're in a roller coaster relationship with yourself, the universe, money, your business, your social media, your energy whenever things don't go “perfectly” (whatever that means) then you may have this energy leak.
But here's the thing: those dips in confidence? They're not a sign that you're failing. They're proof that you're in it.
Alive.
Creating.
Growing.
So, before you hit that panic button, grab your favorite cuppa, and let's settle in.
Steep this :
A few reasons why this happens to the best and most masterful people I know…
1. They haven't done the identity work OR need a refresh for this new era of their life. Meaning their abundance consciousness is tied to every dollar in and every dollar out. I personally watched this in my childhood by one of my parents. On top of the world and generous when money was flowing. Deflated ego (which didn't mean they were mopey it meant that they were mean) and in constant fear about what was next. You can tell when an identity is not grounded in abundance consciousness when the “good times” hasn't landed or built any resiliency for the “slow times”.
Ideally the good times would be serving as evidence and delicious proof that the thing you're desiring is totalllllly possible!!
btw customized hypnotic tracks are a fantastic tool for anchoring into the identity of wealth, regardless of what you currently have or life's ups and downs.
2. You are treating your business as an extension of you. as your “baby”. as your personality. as literally you. This may come as a surprise but despite running a “personal brand”…my business has a soul and a purpose of it's own. As does my social media. They are not me. I could have POOR engagement on an IG post, but myself as an individual have RICH connections and recognition.
Now don't get me wrong….behind the scenes you may hear me say “ wtf this reel got the lowest engagement ever!!” but I let that inform my marketing strategy NOT my self worth.
~~~> It may inform me that while i'm traveling, it's important to still post around the time my community is actually online.
~~~> It may inform me that my current community isn't as interested in for example lifestyle/vlog content as they are practical insights.
That being said…you don't even have to take in and act on what it does inform you on..
I could care less if some people don't like life style reels, I'll post them because I want to and i know that over time itll bring in the people who value my same vision. But I may take in and consider the timing of when I post, to give my expression the best chance!
Regardless it certainly won't sway me from how I feel about myself or my work. I am separate from my business, social media and money.
The real tea?:
if you're like fvck thats totally me….I understand! I think most people do this unknowingly at some point or another (not to mention certain environments, people, news could trigger this)
So today I invite you to contemplate…
Who am I when I'm winning?
Who am I when things aren't going so well?
If your confidence is tethered to every "yes" and "no" in your business, it's no wonder you're feeling wobbly. The problem isn't the ups and downs, it's that you're letting them define who you are.
Here are several truths:
1.The most successful businesses you admire have had lower lows than you can imagine.
2.Confidence and Success IS NOT about eliminating the lows; it's about trusting yourself through them.
3. You, your business, your social media and money are different entities. learn how to engage with each separately.
4.What matters most is WHO you're being when things feel wobbly. The affirmations are easy to recite when you're having a great day, but how about when things feel crunchy?
p.s. would you be interested in a workshop around meeting the soul of your business, social media and money?? so you can be in relationship to them separately and confidently? this would be a fun and different appraoch to channeling what's next for your business and hear anything that's been trying to get your attention.
